Privacy Policy (EN)

This privacy policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what rights you have regarding it, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Michael Röder – Praxis Gestalt & Psyche is a solo psychotherapy practice, not a company — there is no staff, no shareholders, and no corporate structure behind it.

2. Cookies and general access data
Like most websites, this site uses cookies and automatically records some technical information on every visit — browser type, operating system, referring page, date and time, and IP address. This runs through Jetpack, provided by Automattic (the company behind WordPress.com), which also gives basic visitor statistics. This data is not used to identify individual visitors. You can prevent cookies at any time through your browser settings.

3. Contact form and email
If you contact me by email or through the contact form, the information you provide (name, email address, message) is stored so I can respond, and is not shared with third parties. If your message includes something about your health or personal situation, this is treated with the same confidentiality that governs my professional work.

4. Comments on Writing
If you leave a comment on a blog post, that comment, the name you choose to use, and the date are published alongside the post. Your IP address is also logged for security reasons, but not published or shared with third parties unless required by law.

5. Social media links
This site includes plain icon links to my Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp profiles. No data is transmitted to Meta or LinkedIn merely by visiting this website. Only an active click takes you to that platform, where its own privacy policy applies.
The site also includes a plain link to Google Maps for directions to the practice address. As with the links above, no data is transmitted to Google merely by visiting this website — only an active click takes you to Google Maps, where Google’s own privacy policy applies.

6. Scheduling and booking links
This site includes plain hyperlinks to two external scheduling services operated by third parties: cal.com (Cal.com, Inc.), usable for free introductory conversations, and complicated.life (“It’s Complicated”, operated by Mittelweg 50 Berlin GmbH, Berlin), usable for both free introductory conversations and regular sessions, and offering an optional client portal with secure video calls and chat. These are simple links, not embedded widgets — no data reaches either provider merely by visiting this site.

7. Legal basis for processing
Data is processed based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), where necessary to respond to your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or based on a legitimate interest in running this practice (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) that does not override your rights.

8. How long data is kept
Personal data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law, and is deleted afterwards.

9. Your rights
Under GDPR, you may request confirmation of, and access to, the data I hold about you; request correction or erasure; request restriction of processing; receive your data in a portable format; object to processing based on legitimate interest; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, simply write to the email above.

10. Automated decision-making
No automated decision-making or profiling takes place through this website.
